The National Archaeological Museum of Sperlonga and the Villa of Tiberius are one visit: the museum holds the Odyssey sculpture groups found in the grotto, outside is the archaeological area of the seaside villa. In autumn and winter the outdoor area closes early, so it is best to come in the morning.

Opening hours

  • Museum: 8:30 am–7:30 pm, last entry 7 pm. Closed on Mondays, 1 January and 25 December.
  • Archaeological area, October (until the clocks change): last entry 5 pm, closing 6 pm.
  • November and December: last entry 3 pm, closing 4 pm.
  • January: last entry 3:30 pm, closing 4:30 pm.
  • February and March: last entry 4 pm, closing 5 pm.
  • April to September: last entry 6 pm, closing 7 pm.

In bad weather the archaeological area stays closed.

Tiberius’ grotto is closed

The grotto is temporarily closed for extraordinary maintenance. Visits are in groups of up to 30 people plus the guide; groups of more than 10 must book at drm-laz.sperlonga@cultura.gov.it. A visit takes one to one and a half hours.
